Before the school year started we sent out information regarding the Grand River Collegiate Cell Phone/Personal Device Policy In this document we provided various links to resources and research that outlines the significant mental health impact that cell phones and social media have on adolescents.

During our Grade 9 Caregiver & Parent Information Night, Dr. Allison Yeung presented information to caregivers regarding her experience and the impact that she is seeing in her practice with respect to this issue.

After a month and a half of school, I can tell you that our new policy is working very well. We are seeing a significant positive impact on school culture and student focus in the classroom.
