Hi Renegades,

(quick link to video from staff)

Just wanted to send a brief update around your coursework. As you probably already know, teachers have started to provide lessons in your google classroom and through other distance learning methods for those who do not have access to the internet. We are committed to facilitating your ongoing learning and want you to engage in the activities and lessons that teachers are providing. If you know of anyone that is having access to technology issues or cannot get online please have them call the school and leave a message for their Vice-Principal. We can help.

Students in grade 12 classes will be provided with a mid-term mark in the next little while. You should see this in “MyWay” but your teacher’s will also be communicating your marks based on work and classroom activities occurred before Mar. 13, 2020. From this point forward any work that you submit can raise your grade provided the work is of a quality that would improve the current mark. Engage in the ongoing learning provided by year teacher and communicate with your teacher around ways to improve your grade if this is a personal goal.

Students not in grade 12 classes will be engaging in ongoing learning and marks will be provided as final grades. There will be no mid-term mark submission as communicated last week by the WRDSB. Grand River staff will continue to assist students to ensure everyone has the opportunity achieve their credits and are prepared for next year. Your job is to engage in the learning provided by your teachers. Call your Vice-Principal and or Guidance Counselor via the school phone number if you need help with anything.

Many of our teachers have collaborated to share this video. We hope you are well and want you to know we are thinking about you and miss you very much 🙂

Mr. Windsor
