In November 2021, the Ministry of Education announced that all schools in the province will implement a fully de-streamed and single-streamed Grade 9 Program. This new approach will ensure high academic expectations and less program restrictions for all our learners. 

 

To prepare and implement the new Grade 9 program and support students’ achievement and well-being, all WRDSB secondary schools will offer four blended learning days this semester: February 16, March 23, April 27, and May 18.

 

For students, these days will be similar to our Instructional Support Days, where students are not required to attend in-person but will have learning provided through the virtual classroom and live meetings with their teachers. Attendance will be taken.  You will be marked present if you engage in the work posted in the morning and/or are present in your virtual meet in the afternoon.  

 

During the morning students are working through asynchronous work posted in their teachers’ Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).  In the afternoon on these days, synchronous (live) opportunities to meet with each teacher will be provided.  The teacher will provide instruction for connecting in each class.

Time Period
Learning in the morning is REMOTE and ASYNCHRONOUS.  Students are to log-in to their class Virtual Learning Environments and complete the work provided by their teachers. 
8:15 am – 10:50am
  • All 4 classes have asynchronous materials posted for approximately 35min. 
  • Staff will participate in the PD session.
  • ACE students attend their classes as regularly scheduled.
10:50 – 11: 30am LUNCH
Learning in the afternoon is REMOTE and SYNCHRONOUS.  Teachers will be available to meet virtually with their students as per the schedule below.
