GRCI Exam and Evaluation Day Schedule – June 20th – June 25th 

The exam and final evaluation period for Semester 2 will occur from Friday June 20th to Wednesday June 25th, 2025.  Students will demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways including performance based tasks, portfolios, demonstrations, projects, exit interviews, conferences, and exams.  Exams will only be administered in select grade 11 and 12 courses.  Teachers may also require students in grades 9-12 to come into school to complete summative tasks and credit rescue opportunities.

There is an expectation that students complete all parts of a course’s final evaluation.  If students do not complete their final evaluation 30% (in its various forms), it may result in a reduced grade and/or loss of credit.

  • Forms of 30% Final Evaluation: The types of evaluation tasks take on a variety of methods (i.e.) performance-based tasks, portfolios, demonstrations, projects, exit interviews, conferences, and exams. Many final evaluations take place in students’ courses before the exam period.  
  • Exams: Exams will only be administered in grade 11 and 12 courses.  Students with exams should be in their classes by 8:15 on the day of their exam please refer to the schedule below.  
  • Summative Tasks and Credit Rescue Opportunities:   Some students (grades 9 to 12) will be required by their teachers to attend on the exam days to further demonstrate curriculum expectations to earn their credit.  Classroom teachers will invite students that would benefit from an additional opportunity to demonstrate greater understanding of course material.  Teachers will be available in their classrooms working with students on the days associated with the classes they teach on the schedule below.

Please ensure you read the following specific end of year details:

    • ACE students: will attend school with regular programming during this time. 
    • Study Week is June 16 to June 19. There will be no field trips, WCSSAA games or practices, and no school events from June 16th until the end of the year.  
    • PD days; On June 26th and 27th, 2025– PD Days– ACE students and all GRCI students will not attend school.
    • Exam and Final Evaluation Days, June 20-25. Students in the schedule below are required to attend these evaluations. 
      • Student Attendance:  Attendance will be taken and submitted for scheduled exams.Missed exams must be validated and a Vice Principal may follow up with the student. 
      • Study Areas:  The Library will be open for those who wish to engage in quiet study over the exam period.  The cafeteria will also be open for those who need to work collaboratively.
  • Transportation: School buses run on their regular schedule during these four days.
  • Report Cards will be handed out the week of July 7th.
