Dear Grand River C.I. Community,
My first year in this dynamic school community was filled with positive and transformative experiences. The Grand River Renegades did not disappoint! The personal growth, learning and dedication of the students was a joy to witness. As I enter the summer, I am filled with gratitude for the GRCI staff, students, families, neighbours, and wider community.
Some highlights I experienced this year included the first play in a number of years, the student talent on display at music nights, pathways night, the fun of school assemblies, an active and supportive school council, the often tense and competitive games (that last shot at the WCSSAA Basketball finals!), the athletic banquet, and of course a gorgeous graduating class at Commencement.
While we are still saddened to say goodbye to our graduating seniors and the retiring staff, Mr. Hill, Ms. Rowatt and Ms. Fingland, we simultaneously turn our attention to welcoming a new group of Renegades in September.
Some details about Report Cards, Diploma pick up, and Next School Year that you may find helpful:
- Report cards and diplomas may be picked up at the school entrance off Indian Road from 7:30 to 3:30 from July 7th to July 10th, or next school year. Details are found here.
- NEW: We are planning for Student Timetables for the 2025-2026 school year to be available for pick up in the last week of August. Please stay tuned to the website for confirmation of the exact dates.
- Labour Day this year is on Monday September 1st. September 2nd is a Professional Learning Day for WRDSB Staff. The first day of classes is on Wednesday September 3rd.
- We will post a special schedule for September 3rd, so that Grade 9 students can have the opportunity to be in the school by themselves in the morning, with ALL grades attending shortened classes in the afternoon.
