A Message from Region of Waterloo Public Health
The Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) requires that all students in Ontario receive certain vaccines or provide a valid exemption form to attend school. If you recently received a Request for Vaccination letter from Public Health, then Public Health requires vaccination information for your child.
To update your child’s vaccination record, your student may need to:
- Receive required vaccinations
- Report vaccination records online at Vaccine Reporting Form – Region of Waterloo
- Complete and file a valid exemption with Public Health
To help support you and your child through this process, Public Health is hosting a vaccine clinic at The Kitchener Auditorium on Tuesday March 31st from 2:30 – 7 pm for students of Grand River Collegiate Institute. Nurses will provide immunizations, update records and answer questions related to ISPA. This clinic is walk-in only, no appointment or OHIP needed, and will operate on a first come first served basis for eligible clients. Interpretation options will be available.
Public Health will be sending text message reminders of this clinic to families who have not submitted updated vaccine records. Only those students who have received a notice from Public Health related to ISPA are eligible to receive service at this clinic. Please be sure to bring your student’s vaccine records with you to the clinic. Translation options will be available as needed.
