Grand River will be hosting a school-wide Remembrance Day assembly on Monday November 11th. This day will follow a typical modified schedule for an assembly day with shortened classes. On Remembrance Day, we honour those who have served during times of war, conflict, and peace. For students, families and staff in our GRCI community, this will be an opportunity to connect world events of the past and present to students’ lives.

During the assembly, the History Department will give a brief presentation on the significance of Remembrance Day in Canada and there will be a guest speaker from the Memory Project who will share their experience as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.

We recognize and acknowledge that the themes of loss, grief and the impacts of conflict  may be triggering for some members of our community. If your student would like support or an alternative option to the assembly, please contact their guidance counsellor or Vice Principal by November 6th.

If you have any further questions please reach out to the school at 519 576 5100, and dial ‘3’ to connect to our office staff.
