Come Out and Join School Council

“Parents play a vital role in education.  When parents are engaged and involved, everyone–students, parents, and families, teachers, schools, and communities–benefits, and our schools become increasingly rich and positive places to teach, learn, and grow.”

—  Parents in Partnership:  A Parent Engagement Policy for Ontario Schools

All Grand River parents are invited to attend Grand River School Council meetings, held over five Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the KPL Community Room.

School Council is a great way to get to know the Principal, some GRCI staff members and other parents.  It is also a way to stay informed about: Waterloo Regional Assembly of Public School Councils (WRAPSC), school initiatives, upcoming events, parent nights, report card information, course selection and much more.  School Council also helped organize an evening session for parents around post-secondary education planning.

These Wednesday evening are very casual and it is a great environment to stay informed and ask questions about your local community high school.  We welcome new members and new ideas.

If you would like further information, please call Josh Windsor (Principal) at 519-576-5100  or email: josh_windsor@wrdsb.ca
